Taizhou athlete Zhang Qingying to compete in Paris Olympics

Gymnast Zhang Qingying from Taizhou, Zhejiang province, was selected for the gymnastics event of the 2024 Paris Olympics, as announced by the Gymnastics Management Center of the General Administration of Sport on June 17.

Born in 2007 in Jiaojiang district, Zhang is a versatile athlete who began studying gymnastics at the age of 5. She was selected for the provincial team in 2015 and the national team in 2022.

Zhang secured three gold medals in women's team, women's balance beam, and floor exercise, as well as a silver medal in women's individual all-around at the 10th Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in June 2023. She also claimed a gold medal in balance beam at the 2024 Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, in March.
