Dasiji is part of the Kuocang Mountain range, situated at the intersection of Huangyan, Xianju county, and Yongjia county. Surrounded by mountains, the area's average elevation is over 900 meters, with the highest peak reaching 1,295 meters. It is one of the top spots in the region for observing hoarfrost, as the headwaters of both the Yongning River in Taizhou and the Zhinan River in Wenzhou originate here.

Hoarfrost, commonly known as ice flowers or tree rime, forms when moisture freezes directly onto tree branches in freezing temperatures, creating stunning milky-white ice crystals.
