Taizhou's seafood exports reached 1.19 billion yuan ($170 million) in 2025, a 19.3 percent year-on-year increase, highlighting seafood's growing role as a major driver of foreign trade growth.

Workers at Taizhou Haihua Aquatic Products process freshly caught squid and crabs in the sorting workshop, freezing and packing them for export to Canada via Ningbo's Beilun Port. The company's products, known for their freshness and safety, include frozen squid, shrimp, fish, and crabs. In 2025, it exported around 4,300 metric tons of these products, generating over 150 million yuan ($21 million) in export value. The company has invested in automated production lines and upgraded its facilities, winning the long-term favor of overseas customers through the stable quality of its products.

Thanks to Taizhou's focus on quality, more of its seafood products have gained access to the European Union market. A shipment of 39.36 tons of frozen anglerfish recently departed from Zhejiang Funday Food for delivery to Portugal. With a diversified product range, the company's export value rose 29.8 percent year on year to 70.87 million yuan in 2025.

The city currently has over 20 enterprises with export qualifications for aquatic products, spanning more than 10 varieties with markets in over 20 countries and regions.
