The 2026 Industrial Belt Cross-Border Procurement Docking event was held on Jan 13 in Luqiao district, Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province. The event featured a multinational procurement matchmaking session, attracting nearly 100 buyers from over 40 countries and regions, as well as nearly 200 enterprises from across the province.

As a key functional area in Taizhou, Luqiao has leveraged its strength as a manufacturing hub to develop an integrated model that combines industrial clusters, platforms, and cross-border e-commerce.

During the event, several cooperation agreements were signed. These included a cross-border e-commerce partnership between 1688 (Alibaba's business-to-business platform) and Luqiao's enterprises producing items such as footwear, holiday lights, and bathroom supplies. These agreements aim to support the expansion of local manufacturing into international markets through digital channels.

Following the opening ceremony, participating enterprises held one-on-one discussions focused on key sectors including plumbing, small machinery, daily plastic products, and motorcycle parts. Zaman Muhammad Tahir, a buyer from Pakistan, said the event helped his company connect directly with suppliers and explore new technologies. He expressed hope of establishing long-term partnerships with Taizhou's enterprises.
