A provincial event on international education exchange and the "Silk Road College" construction seminar was held in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, from Dec 25 to 26.

Taizhou Vocational and Technical College's project — internationalization and innovation practice of serving private enterprises — was selected among 39 exemplary internationalization cases of higher vocational education.

In recent years, the college has aligned its programs with the internationalization needs of private enterprises, building an international skills training system driven by industrial demands and digital technologies.

As more Taizhou enterprises expand abroad, the college has collaborated with local companies to set up "Silk Road Colleges" and training bases in overseas locations such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia. These initiatives help meet the growing demand for skilled workers by providing tailored training programs for local employees.

For instance, in Bangladesh, the college has partnered with WeiXing Co Ltd to build a "Silk Road College" offering training that combines Chinese language and vocational skills. The model has proven successful in improving local employees' skills and cross-cultural communication. Similar programs are being implemented in Thailand and Cambodia, with nearly 200 people trained in Cambodia's new energy vehicle technology this year.

The college's focus on digital technology has also enhanced the development of composite professionals. To date, Taizhou Vocational and Technical College has trained more than 500 local talents overseas.
