Hydrogen-powered two-wheelers, capable of more than 100 kilometers of range on a single refill, are set to appear in Taizhou Bay, East China's Zhejiang province, by the end of the year.

As of Dec 2, newly assembled vehicles were lined up at Hyvi Tech's Taizhou Bay production base, featuring streamlined designs and hydrogen fuel-cell systems that can be swapped out in about 30 seconds. The vehicles target lightweight mobility applications and use solid-state hydrogen storage technology, enabling rapid hydrogen replacement, long endurance, and reliable cold-start performance at minus 30 C, while also supporting campus mobility, scenic-area touring, and urban commuting.

Hyvi Tech was founded in Wuhan, Hubei province, in 2017 and focuses on hydrogen fuel cell systems and core electronic control components. Its Taizhou Bay base, launched in March, draws on nearly 200 core patents and operates three intelligent production lines for stacks, controllers, and system assembly.

The base can produce 3,000 fuel cell stacks and systems and 10,000 to 30,000 sets of core control components annually. Output from the base is expected to exceed 20 million yuan ($2.82 million) this year, while the company's overall output is set to rise more than 30 percent.
