More than 20 expats from over 10 countries visited Yuhuan, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, from Nov 29 to 30. Through village outings, enterprise tours, and wetland experiences, the guests observed Yuhuan's efforts to advance rural development and cultural tourism integration.
The group first visited Yanggen village on Nov 29. The village is surrounded by mountains and features more than 146 hectares of pomelo orchards. The industry is expected to generate over 100 million yuan ($14.15 million) in output this year. At the Wendan Huakai Creative Park, the group viewed exhibits featuring fabric art, woodcarving, and aromatherapy.
The itinerary continued at Xuanmen Bay National Wetland Park, a 31.48-square-kilometer reserve which has a wetland coverage of more than 90.85 percent. Expats explored the lake by boat and visited the science center to learn about the region's biodiversity.
On Nov 30, the group toured Zhejiang Supor, where they explored the exhibition hall and learned about the company's growth from a small workshop to a global kitchen appliance brand.
They also enjoyed coastal scenery at the Yuhuan demonstration section of Taizhou No 1 Expressway and visited a tea-growing base, where they learned about tea cultivation using volcanic soil.
