Lin Long, a smart agriculture expert born in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, was appointed advisor to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in China on the development of smart agriculture on Nov 16.

As part of his new role, Lin will help explore opportunities for agricultural science and technology cooperation between China and Nigeria. His work will focus on advancing the application of digital and intelligent technologies to support agricultural modernization in Nigeria and, by extension, across Africa.

Enhanced cooperation in smart agriculture between China and Nigeria is a shining example of China–Africa collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative. By aligning China's technological strengths with Nigeria's development needs, the partnership is aimed at strengthening global food security and promoting the growth of modern agricultural value chains.
