In the eighth episode of A Gift from Taizhou, Rodrigo Ezequiel Alvarez from Argentina visits Redrock Ji Gong Jia in Tiantai county, Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, to experience the charm of traditional Chinese brewing rooted in Song Dynasty (960-1279) craftsmanship.

Here, he stirs the fermentation starter by hand, discovering the distinct "heritage flavor" passed down through centuries.

Tiantai's red yeast rice wine dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and flourished during the Song period. The beverage is made from Tiantai's white herbs, red yeast, round glutinous rice, and spring water from Tiantai Mountain, entirely using traditional hand-brewing techniques.

The result is an elegant, mellow, and well-balanced wine with a delicate blend of sweetness and acidity. Rich in amino acids, vitamins, and polysaccharides, it has long been cherished by locals as a symbol of craftsmanship and cultural pride.
