Taizhou promotes Hehe culture in South Korea

Print PrintA cultural delegation from Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, visited South Korea from Oct 10 to 14 for a series of friendship exchange events and performances, introducing the city's Hehe culture — a regional philosophy rooted in harmony and integration — to Naju, Ulsan, and Busan.

In Naju, the delegation met with Mayor Yoon Byung-tae from Oct 10 to 11 to discuss future cooperation plans between the two cities. Taizhou Luantan Opera Troupe and Taizhou Shimin Orchestra delivered captivating performances that highlighted the harmony and inclusiveness embodied in Hehe culture.

From Oct 13 to 14, the delegation continued to Ulsan and Busan for more performances and exchanges with local artists and cultural organizations. Audiences in both cities responded warmly to the shows, which combined music, dance, and opera for an immersive cultural experience.

In recent years, Taizhou has introduced Hehe culture to cities including Fort Wayne in the United States, Hanau in Germany, Kielce in Poland, Ghent in Belgium, and Tsuruga in Japan — spreading the beauty of Taizhou's spirit of harmony to the world.
