The Taizhou Bay New Area Airport in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, has been approved, marking a major milestone in regional aviation infrastructure.
As part of the area's unmanned aviation town, the airport serves as a key hub for strengthening the general aviation network and advancing the low-altitude economy. The facility, classified as an A1 general airport, has received a total investment of about 650 million yuan ($91.15 million) and covers roughly 23 hectares.
It features an 800-meter-long, 30-meter-wide runway and 14 aircraft stands. The terminal area spans over 13,800 square meters and features eight buildings, including a comprehensive office building, maintenance facilities, and special vehicle garages, along with supporting outdoor infrastructure.
Designed with a modern minimalist glass facade and distinctive irregular curtain walls, the complex strikes a harmonious balance between technology and openness. The airport will not only serve as an industrial support facility for Taizhou Bay New Area but also undertake key public service functions such as maritime patrols, environmental monitoring, and emergency response.
