Xianju county in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, was named a finalist for the Living and Inclusive Award during the award ceremony of 2025 Tomorrow City Shanghai on Sept 4, a key event of the Smart City Expo World Congress in Shanghai.

The congress is regarded as the world's most influential smart city exhibition. Its China awards division was introduced in 2019. This year, Xianju joins Xiangyang and Yangzhou as finalists for the 2025 Living and Inclusive Award.

In recent years, Xianju has progressed in the construction of digital infrastructure for a new model of smart city. Supported by 5G, the internet of things, and big data, the county has developed a multidimensional digital base to integrate city governance, industrial digitalization, and improved public services. It has promoted a model connecting technology, application scenarios, and operational mechanisms.

Applications such as safe city systems, digital villages, and emergency broadcasting have been put in place to increase precision in urban governance and improve service delivery. These initiatives aim to fortify the digital governance and service framework, laying a foundation for a living and intelligent city.
