The 2025 Zhejiang Provincial Basketball League opened in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on July 4.

The league will run from July 2025 through February 2026, bringing together teams across the province for a total of 400 games.

At the opening ceremony, organizers revealed the official match ball for the season, the Migeer basketball, produced by Sanmen Jianlong Sports Goods Co Ltd in Sanmen, Taizhou, Zhejiang. As one of Zhejiang's top basketball events, the league aims to connect communities across the province through both sports and local cultures.

By the end of July 2025, 90 teams across 11 prefecture-level cities will have competed in preliminary rounds. Each of the cities will nominate two teams — one representing a county (or district) that won its qualifiers, and one city-level joint team — to advance to the finals. These 22 teams will compete for the provincial championship starting Aug 8.

The event is designed as more than just a sports competition. Cultural performances and tourism activities will accompany games across the province.

For Taizhou-based Jianlong, a 30-year specialist in sports ball production, the selection of its Migeer basketball as the league's official match ball is both an honor and an opportunity. The brand supplies over two million balls annually to more than 2,000 schools and venues.

Taizhou's regional qualifiers will take place from July 15 to 18 with 10 local teams competing for a spot in the provincial championship.
