The Xin Xing Night Market opened on June 27 in Jiaojiang district, Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province. The new event ran from June 27 to 29, with night markets scheduled twice a month through September.
This initiative is a key move in upgrading consumption and injecting vitality into urban life. As a new economic engine, nighttime consumption is gaining traction across China. The Xin Xing Night Market aims to energize the city's economy through creative urban experiences.
Nearly 150 booths featured eight themed sections covering food, cultural creations, trendy toys, and more. Visitors enjoyed both classic flavors from time-honored brands and exquisite intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship. The event also spotlighted top-quality "Made in Taizhou" products, fully reflecting the city's identity as a coastal, cultural, and manufacturing hub.
Beyond shopping, the market offered rich community engagement, featuring local delicacies, cultural performances, heritage demonstrations, and public services like career advice, health consultations, and legal aid — all blended into an inclusive atmosphere.
The night market aims to serve diverse consumer needs while driving new momentum for industry.
A special area for export-to-domestic goods helps foreign trade companies expand locally, reinforcing dual circulation. Future editions will evolve toward regular operations and brand building, setting a benchmark for Taizhou's night economy.
