A symposium aiming to cultivate talent and promote the high-quality development of local arts was held at the new base of the Taizhou Luantan Troupe in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on June 5.

In recent years, the Taizhou municipal of fedration of literary and art circles has focused on creating high-quality artistic works and nurturing talent. This approach has widely yielded a number of acclaimed local art pieces and produced several nationally recognized artists.

Since 2018, five Taizhou-based artists have received top national honors in their respective fields, including Ye Wenlong and Yan Jinsong who both won the China Photography Golden Statue Award.

Most recently, artist Bao Chenre from the Taizhou Luantan Troupe won the Plum Blossom Award, China's top drama honor.

At the symposium, three famous artists Ye, Bao, and Shang Wenbo shared insights on how Taizhou's arts can reach new heights. Ye emphasized enhancing the global visibility of Taizhou's culture through international exhibitions.

Shang highlighted the vitality of grassroots storytelling, while Bao reflected that winning the Plum Blossom Award marked a new beginning for her and that rural stages remained the heart of her performances, with over 300 shows performed annually.

Representatives from various art associations also contributed ideas to further strengthening Taizhou's cultural development.
