The Taizhou-Spain Chinese Teaching "Cloud Classroom" was inaugurated on March 29, marking a significant collaboration between Huanshan Primary School in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, and the Centre Cultural Confuci in Barcelona.
Huanshan Primary School, recognized as an international exchange workshop among Zhejiang's primary and secondary schools by the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, has been actively engaging in teaching and cultural interactions with overseas Chinese schools in countries such as Hungary, the Philippines, and Austria.
The Centre Cultural Confuci in Barcelona, established in 2004, is one of Europe's largest weekend Chinese schools, with around 3,100 students and teachers. It has also been honored as a "Model School for Overseas Chinese Education" by the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.
Lin Yan, Party secretary of Huanshan Primary School, expressed optimism about the future of the partnership, highlighting the school's commitment to cultural exchanges between China and the West.
Chen Qing, principal of the Centre Cultural Confuci in Barcelona, emphasized the valuable learning opportunities the "Cloud Classroom" presents for Chinese students in Spain, fostering a deeper understanding of the Chinese language and culture.
The inaugural session was delivered by Chen Jing, a teacher from Huanshan Primary School, who narrated the mythological tale of "Pangu Creating the World" to the students in both regions.
The Taizhou-Spain Chinese Teaching "Cloud Classroom" is part of efforts by Taizhou's overseas Chinese affairs department, focusing on Chinese cultural classics, stories, and folk customs to facilitate cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
