Yuhuan, a county-level city in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, has developed a substantial robot industry cluster despite its less-than-ideal geographical and resource conditions.

Last year, the region, with 52 local enterprises involved in the robot industry, achieved an output of 7.79 billion yuan ($1.07 billion), demonstrating a 6.85 percent growth year-on-year.

The city's robust manufacturing sector, which includes precision machinery, automotive parts, and plumbing valves, serves as a foundation for the growing robot industry. Many traditional manufacturing companies in Yuhuan have transitioned to support the development of the robot industry.

Qixing Intelligent Technology Co is an example of this transition. Its workshop is bustling with robots performing tasks such as tin welding and precise grabbing, demonstrating the seamless integration of robots in production processes.

The company is shifting from producing key components for industrial sewing machines to manufacturing intelligent robots. Currently, its robot products are widely used in various production processes, including motor assembly, machine tool loading and unloading, and intelligent welding, according to Chairman Lin Zichun.

The industry value chain from component manufacturing to complete robot assembly is the greatest advantage for the development of the robot industry in Yuhuan and is also crucial for the formation of an industrial cluster.

Zhejiang Foyot Electronic Technology Co, which specializes in robot grippers, develops over 300 intelligent grippers adapted to different scenarios. One of the company's important customers is Qixing Technology. "When our grippers are paired with Qixing's robot bodies, a complete robot product is delivered," explained Chairman Huang Yongjie.
