The sample exhibition hall of Zhejiang Senbo Outdoor Products Co in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, showcased an array of outdoor jackets, attracting a steady stream of visitors for bulk purchases or individual shopping, Tide News reported on Feb 17.

Sanmen county in Taizhou boasts over 300 outdoor jacket manufacturing enterprises and over 200 e-commerce companies. With annual production exceeding 80 million and sales at around 12 billion yuan ($1.65 billion), Sanmen's outdoor jacket industry has garnered attention for its remarkable growth.

Behind their success lies years of craftsmanship and innovation.

"Our production workshop employees have decades of experience in garment-making. They are proficient in every step of crafting outdoor jackets, ensuring the quality of each product," said Mei Jin, Chairman of Zhejiang Yaotu Apparel Co.

The company has also embraced innovation in developing products. Mei shared the company's latest creation — the lifesaving outdoor jacket combining waterproof and windproof properties with buoyancy.

"The product can be applied in many areas like maritime applications, emergency services, outdoor sports, and fishing activities," added Mei.

To further propel Sanmen's outdoor jacket industry, the local government established a dedicated task force, fostering collaboration between government, institutions, enterprises, universities, and associations.

Additionally, the upcoming completion of the outdoor jacket innovation park promises to elevate the industry's cluster effect and regional brand influence, serving as a pivotal platform for industry transformation.

Sanmen's outdoor jacket industry has evolved into a distinctive, lucrative, and fashionable sector, providing employment opportunities for over 30,000 individuals and significantly boosting annual per capita incomes in the region.
