The 2024-2025 VEX Robotics Asia Open Finals is set to take place from Feb 20 to 23 at the Taizhou International Expo Center in Taizhou, Zhejiang province.

This event will draw nearly 2,000 participants from more than 500 teams across the country to compete for a spot in the VEX Robotics World Championship.

Taizhou has been fostering a conducive environment for the digital and artificial intelligence industries, which aligns with the practical innovation spirits and international perspectives promoted by the VEX Robotics Asia Open.

Organized jointly by the iSTEM Network, the Jiaojiang District People's Government, and the Taizhou News and Media Center, the competition requires participating teams to design, construct, and program their robots.

Notably, the competition introduces the VEX AI category for the first time, emphasizing the fusion of robotics technology and artificial intelligence. Participants are challenged to create robots capable of autonomously executing complex tasks, which shows their prowess in programming and algorithm design.

Shi Hongwei, secretary-general of the organizing committee, expressed hope that this event would provide an opportunity to identify and form a competitive Chinese VEX AI team, paving the way for future success on the international stage.
