Ziyang Street, a 1,080-meter-long ancient street in Linhai, a county-level city in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, was recently listed among the first batch of intangible cultural heritage-themed blocks in the province.

This historic street, steeped in a thousand years of lore, is a living testament to Linhai's ebbs and flows over the years.

With architectures of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1912), Ziyang Street seamlessly weaves cultural immersion, leisure tourism, diverse businesses, and a laid-back lifestyle into its ancient fabric.

Visitors can savor culinary delights like the famed Baishuiyang tofu, seaweed cakes, and danqingyangwei — a type of fried sweetened bean paste coated with egg whites. These treats not only tantalize taste buds but also preserve Linhai's culinary heritage.

Beyond gastronomic pleasures, Ziyang Street harbors a treasure trove of intangible cultural heritage. From Linggen grass weaving to Linhai paper-cutting, these heritages enrich the street's cultural depth and offer visitors a glimpse into the allure of traditional craftsmanship.

Strolling along the street is like a journey through time back to the ancient era.
