Taizhou in Zhejiang province, a national-level cross-border e-commerce pilot zone, has harnessed its wealth of manufacturing products to drive significant growth. In 2024, the city achieved a cross-border e-commerce export volume of 11 billion yuan ($1.50 billion), marking a remarkable 110 percent year-on-year growth.
Taizhou Weisen Technology Co joined the Linhai E-commerce (Cross-border) Industrial Park last year. Its foray into cross-border e-commerce saw sales surge by over 10 percent monthly over four months, aided by the park's comprehensive services.
The industrial park focuses on six key industries, including decorative lighting and eyewear, and offers services such as customs clearance, cross-border marketing, and brand incubation. While facilitating cross-border e-commerce operations for manufacturing and traditional trade enterprises, the park also attracts cross-border e-commerce firms from other regions to Linhai.
In 2024, Taizhou established the 1688 Product Selection Center, which currently hosts over 500 factories and enterprises. Sales revenue is projected to exceed 100 million yuan in 2025.
"We offered all-around supportive policies for cross-border e-commerce, including building a cross-border e-commerce park, a comprehensive service platform, and a product selection center in each county, district, and county-level city," said Dong Jie, deputy director of the Taizhou bureau of commerce.
