Print PrintA total of 108 Taizhou companies finalized arrangements in Dubai on Dec 16 in preparation for the upcoming China (UAE) Trade Fair.
Taizhou sees overseas exhibitions as vital for international market expansion. This trade fair represents the city's fifth self-organized overseas exhibition this year and boasts 172 booths — the most yet this year.
Responding to enterprises' fervent demand for market expansion, Taizhou has been rolling out policies, expanding resources, and providing platforms for them.
The policy support measures include enhanced subsidies for participating in overseas exhibitions. Key exhibitions listed in a directory will see their subsidy rates increase from 60 percent to 80 percent, with other non-listed exhibitions receiving subsidies ranging from 30 percent to 60 percent.
"The 2025 key business exhibition directory is currently soliciting advice and suggestions. We will work to elevate the proportion of key exhibitions in emerging markets to around 50 percent, bolstering support for enterprises looking to tap into these markets," said Gan Xiaodan, director of the foreign trade department of the Taizhou Bureau of Commerce.
Additionally, Taizhou is actively supporting the establishment of more cross-border procurement platforms to draw more buyers from abroad. This year, nearly 20 cross-border procurement matchmaking events have been held, attracting nearly 5,000 foreign buyers.
Through digital means, Taizhou has promoted its online exhibition platform to targeted overseas buyers. Since its launch in 2020, the platform has attracted 2,193 local entrepreneurs and 52,000 products, with over 13,000 foreign merchants from more than 80 countries visiting and the number of inquiries surpassing 5,000.
