As the strawberry picking season unfolds, an innovative method of cultivation is reshaping the landscape at Lyuwochuan Farm in Taizhou's Beiyang town.

Strawberries at the farm are grown on racks suspended in the air, allowing precise control of light exposure by adjusting their elevation. The entire greenhouse is managed via the Internet of Things, with sensors scattered throughout monitoring environmental conditions like temperature and humidity.

The strawberries dangling overhead are both easier for workers to manage and for visitors to pick.

Huang Shaoxian, who works at the farm, said, "We practice soilless cultivation, entirely automated by computers. This method eliminates soil constraints and mitigates risks associated with heavy metals, chemicals, pesticide residues, and harmful insect eggs, boosting yields more than threefold compared to traditional methods."

This innovative cultivation model has been adopted in over 10 provinces across the country, with 24 cultivation bases already in operation.

In recent years, spurred by the establishment of a provincial agricultural science and technology park, Beiyang town has been exploring the potential of agricultural, cultural, and tourism development and establishing a "digital + facility" smart agricultural development system.

Many agricultural entities in the town have expanded into smart agriculture, tourism, and education, propelling both industry enhancement and rural vitalization.
