Eleven international students from Taizhou University visited Wenling Baizhang Primary School in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, on Nov 26.
Dressed in traditional attire, the students got a glimpse into traditional Chinese etiquette practices in front of a statue of Confucius, while also learning how to hold brushes and write simple strokes in a calligraphy class.
They also attended an English class with local students, sharing the diverse cultures of their nations, which sparked a lively discussion and fostered mutual understanding.
After that, a vibrant scene of culinary collaboration unfolded as the students and teachers worked together to create a local traditional dish — stir-fried rice cakes with beef, carrots, and many other ingredients, blending international flavors with traditional Chinese cuisine.

Chen Lijia, a student from Uzbekistan, expressed her enthusiasm for the dish, saying she's eager to incorporate it into her daily meals. In addition to the culinary delights, the day at the school forged meaningful connections between the international students and the local community, highlighting the significance of cultural exchange.
