The 2024 Cross Mountain and Sea 100 Kilometer Trail Run wrapped up in Yuhuan on Nov 17.

Over two days, the event attracted more than 2,700 domestic and international participants, ranging from top athletes to average joes. This is the second year that Yuhuan has held the race, and the number of participants doubled from last year.

Participants traversed a scenic racecourse, enjoying the breathtaking mountain and sea views as well as local delicacies offered at 10 supply points along the way.

Yuhuan, renowned as a national marine park and one of Zhejiang's top 10 island parks, exudes natural beauty that captivates visitors. It has been integrating tourism with competitions to attract more visitors.

Over the past year, Yuhuan has hosted over 370 large-scale sporting events, including one international, six national, and 16 provincial-level competitions, drawing a total of 94,000 participants. This surge in sports activities has made the city even more vibrant.

Resident Zhu Yong emerged victorious in the 30km race, expressing his delight at such high-quality events being held in his hometown. He hopes that Yuhuan will continue to host more races, attracting more people to the city and fostering a deeper appreciation for all it has to offer.
