The approximately 300-square-meter Jiaojiang Pavilion featured ten leading optical companies from Jiaojiang, including Taizhou Yafeng Glasses Co and Taizhou Jiaojiang Hongda Glasses Co, whose top products showed global buyers the innovation and quality of Jiaojiang's products.
Hong Kong is the world's third-largest exporter of eyewear and frames, making this a huge event for companies trying to enter international markets. The establishment of the Jiaojiang Pavilion is a significant milestone for Jiaojiang enterprises.
This year, Jiaojiang district subsidized 80 percent of the exhibition fees for participating companies and established the Jiaojiang Pavilion, bolstering the Jiaojiang eyewear brand, according to Jiang Kaihong, chairman of Taizhou Jiaojiang Hongda Glasses Co.
Jiaojiang has a long history in the eyewear industry and has been continuously transforming in recent years. From January to September this year, Jiaojiang's optical enterprises exported goods worth 237 million yuan ($32.74 million), an increase of 18.6 percent year-on-year.
Notably, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Jiaojiang district bureau of commerce signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Nov 7. The agreement focuses on helping Jiaojiang enterprises use international trade platforms in Hong Kong to expand their global presence.
