2024 International Engineering Conference kicks off in Taizhou

The 2024 International Engineering Conference commenced in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 8.

This marked the first event of the International Engineering Conference, a flagship initiative by the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific.

Centered around the theme "Engineering Innovation and Mutual Cooperation", the conference aims to foster international collaboration in crucial areas such as engineering education, emerging technologies, and the development and mobility of engineering professionals.

The conference has attracted leaders and heads of institutions from 41 countries across the Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America, along with representatives from 50 international organizations, including some affiliated with the United Nations and renowned international scientific organizations. Participants from countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative were also present.

Spanning two days, the conference features one main session, three specialized sessions, several side events, and a closing ceremony.

As a "City of Manufacturing", Taizhou boasts a solid industrial foundation and a robust pool of engineering talent. In the first nine months of this year, the city's enterprises in the engineering sector recorded $305.5 million in overseas investment filings, accounting for 47.66 percent of the city's total overseas investment filings.
