Taizhou's Luqiao tourism booms with record overnight visitor growth

According to data from the Luqiao district bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism, and sports on Nov 4, the growth rate in the number of overnight visitors to Luqiao reached 19.6 percent year-on-year in the first three quarters of this year, the highest in Taizhou.

Luqiao welcomed approximately 2.46 million overnight visitors in the first three quarters of this year, ranking 5th in Taizhou and 63rd in Zhejiang province. The growth rate of 19.6 percent ranks 28th in the province and is 4.2 percentage points more than in the first half of the year.

Throughout the year, Luqiao district has organized nearly a hundred cultural and tourism activities during holidays. These events included immersive performances, interactive experiences, and sports tourism, offering fresh and exciting attractions for visitors.

The district has also focused on creating a culinary brand, launching a series of food, performance, and film projects that have gained widespread popularity.

A key cultural landmark, Shili Long Street, has been revitalized, offering a vibrant mix of cultural activities and businesses.

Luqiao has pioneered incentive policies to encourage social entities to host festivals and consumer promotion activities. These policies include subsidies for events that combine local customs, unique natural resources, and distinctive industries, aiming to boost the tourism economy.
