Shangni village in Luqiao district, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, renowned for its expertise in shoe and hat production, especially snow boots, is embracing transformation and innovation and making strides towards high-quality development.

Since June, almost all enterprises in the village have been operating. Li Jundong, secretary of the Luqiao Shoe Industry Association, noted a significant increase in orders, ranging from 20 percent to 30 percent year-on-year.

Luyu Shoe Company, for instance, ventured into cross-border e-commerce last year with remarkable success. At its peak, it receives orders of more than 10,000 pairs of snow boots monthly, while during off season it still gets a steady 3,000 to 4,000 pairs.

Pioneering the cross-border e-commerce trend in the village, Luyu Company's achievements have inspired over 50 other shoe companies to follow suit, utilizing e-commerce as a key avenue for boosting production and revenue.

Furthermore, numerous enterprises have invested substantially in upgrading equipment and refining production processes. Taizhou Meiyi Shoe Company, for example, invested over 1 million yuan ($140,385.60) to elevate its products into the mid-to-high-end market.

The establishment of a brand service station at Shangni Industrial Park in 2021 has been pivotal in nurturing brand awareness and innovative vitality among enterprises. Over 80 companies in the park have now established independent brands, symbolizing a shift from quantity-focused expansion to a quality-driven approach.
