In the first three quarters of this year, the total value of imports and exports of mechanical and electrical products from Taizhou, Zhejiang province, to BRICS countries reached 23.26 billion yuan ($3.26 billion), a 3.32 percent year-on-year increase, according to Taizhou Customs on Oct 24.

This growth underscores the prowess of Taizhou's manufacturing and sets a sturdy foundation for its global expansion.

Key exports include agricultural machinery, sewing machinery and parts, electronic components, and automotive parts. Sewing machinery and parts saw a 14.11 percent increase, reaching 1.73 billion yuan, while automotive parts hit 1.61 billion yuan, up by 2.66 percent.

Brazil and Egypt have emerged as vital export destinations for Taizhou's mechanical and electrical products within the BRICS market. Particularly, Brazil has shown a remarkable 32.61 percent growth in imports of such products from Taizhou.

Taizhou's photovoltaic products benefit from substantial opportunities in BRICS nations. Zhejiang Era Solar Technology Co reported a 62 percent year-on-year surge in orders for solar photovoltaic panels to BRICS countries like Brazil and South Africa, said Xu Leiping, the company's deputy general manager.

Taizhou Customs continues to enhance its support for trade between local manufacturing firms and BRICS nations, offering policy guidance and facilitation measures. These initiatives not only streamline logistics processes but also bolster the competitiveness of local enterprises in the global market.
