The Sanmen Nuclear Power Co in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the world's first nuclear power enterprise to be recognized as a Lighthouse Factory by the World Economic Forum.

Lighthouse Factories are considered the most advanced factories in the world, notable for their advanced technology, strong innovation, high labor productivity, economic benefits, and green low-carbon development, representing the pinnacle of global intelligent manufacturing and digital technology.

At the heart of this achievement lies the company's development of a cutting-edge chemical intelligent inspection robot. The robot can autonomously conduct inspections of water samples, analyze critical parameters, and send the data to the data hub.

Equipped with AI-driven diagnostic capabilities, the robot can identify anomalies in real time and send out early warning signals in time, enhancing operational safety and reliability.

The company's digital transformation extends beyond this innovation, encompassing smart engineering, maintenance practices, and overall plant management. These efforts have not only improved safety records but also increased operational efficiency, with a 1.5 percent boost in capacity factor and a 46 percent reduction in overhaul periods.

Looking ahead, the company is poised to leverage its Lighthouse Factory status to drive further advancements in nuclear power technology and sustainability.
