"At present, we are intensifying the construction of pile foundations and the installation of photovoltaic panels, including the installation of supports and components. On the premise of ensuring both quality and quantity, we are seizing the construction period to ensure that the project is completed and put into production as soon as possible," Xu Xian, the person in charge of on - site construction of the "Grazing for Light Everywhere" project of State Grid Zhejiang Tiantai County Power Supply Company, said at the Cangshan Industrial Agglomeration Area in Tiantai county, Zhejiang province, on Sept 18.
"Grazing for Light Everywhere" is an innovative project first created by State Grid Zhejiang Tiantai County Power Supply Company in China, which uses reserved land to build movable photovoltaic power stations. The photovoltaic power station is designed to be a movable photovoltaic power station that is easy to relocate. This is an innovative achievement of a subsidiary of State Grid in exploring the dormant value of idle reserved land by finding another way to promote the "dual-carbon" goal.
Although it is already early autumn, the temperature is still high. On a flat and open piece of land, construction workers are working intensively under the scorching sun, driving piles, pouring columns, and leveling the ground. Soon they are sweating profusely, and their light-colored work clothes are dyed dark, but they wipe off their sweat, have no time to drink water, and still cooperate closely and construct orderly. It is understood that the project covers an area of about 63 mu (4.2 hectares), is designed to be used for 25 years, and adopts the surplus power-on-grid method. The total investment is about 8.34 million yuan, and the total installed capacity is 2.072MW. After being put into production and generating electricity, it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1,805 tons per year. The successful pilot of this project will accumulate experience for Tiantai county and even the whole country in building movable photovoltaic power stations using various types of reserved land (or unused land) for reference.
"We start work before 5 am every day. It's too hot, so we 'work from dawn to dusk'." Although it is already autumn, autumn tigers are always fiercer than summer. On the unshaded construction site, the surface temperature sometimes reaches as high as over 40 degrees Celsius. In order to catch up with the project, workers arrive at the construction site to work before 5 every morning, finish work at 11, avoid the hottest time of the day, and start work again after 4 in the afternoon. It has been half a month since the beginning of early August.
"The project is on a low - hilly and gentle - slope area, and there is no water source around. So we go to the village five or six li (2,500 or 3,000 meters) away to transport water, seven or eight times a day," Zhang Feng said. A large white plastic bucket can hold about 1 ton of water, and the continuous artificial water supply faithfully guarantees the important tasks of cement mixing and pile foundation watering.
It is also learned that the photovoltaic foundation adopts a combination of concrete piers and ground anchor systems, which is the first in the country. Concrete piers mainly solve the problems of load-bearing of photovoltaic components and resistance to uneven settlement of the plot, while the ground anchor system is responsible for how to prevent the photovoltaic components from being blown by the wind. Compared with the traditional pure concrete pier foundation, this foundation form can greatly reduce the size and number of piers, which can not only improve its installation and migration efficiency, but also cut the input cost. In order to ensure that the photovoltaic power station is put into operation on schedule with guaranteed quality and quantity, Zhang Feng leads the team to ensure the safety of power generation at the source. They work overtime and endure high temperatures, just for the on-schedule grid-connection and power generation of the first-phase project at the end of next month.
Grazing for Light Everywhere - Chasing the sun to generate electricity and shine. In the whole country, reserved and unused lands such as land waiting for construction and abandoned mining areas are a blue ocean of resources. State Grid Tiantai County Power Supply Company first created this project. As a universal model, its advantage of being replicable and promotable will be of great benefit to promoting the national "dual-carbon" construction, and the future is full of promise.
