French auto parts giant Valeo commemorated three decades of success in Wenling, a county-level city in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, with a grand celebration on Sept 5. The event, held in Wenling, highlighted Valeo's deep-rooted connection to the area, where it established its first Chinese factory back in 1994.

From its inception as a joint venture to its current status as a wholly-owned entity, Taizhou Valeo Wenling Automotive Systems Co has emerged as a frontrunner in the production of wiper systems, boasting a leading market share in China.

The company's wiper products not only cater to a vast majority of domestic vehicle manufacturers but also find their way to markets in countries and regions like Japan, South Korea, North America, and Southeast Asia.

Valeo, a French enterprise founded in 1923, strategically chose Wenling for its first Chinese joint venture in 1994, focusing on wipers, washers, and automotive electrical systems. This decision proved fruitful as Valeo reaped the benefits of China's economic growth.

Today, Taizhou Valeo has become a key player in the domestic wiper and washer system manufacturing sector, holding a prominent position in the Chinese market and serving as a vital export production base for Valeo Group in China.

Meanwhile, the cooperation has also brought a multitude of resources, including capital, technology, and management expertise, to Taizhou, accelerating the growth of local enterprises and the auto parts industry.

There are currently four local companies that have collaborated with Taizhou Valeo for 30 years and eight companies for over 20 years, with most evolving into enterprises above the designated size.

Over the past 30 years, Taizhou Valeo has witnessed Valeo's success story in China, telling a tale of cooperation and mutual prosperity between China and France.
