Since being designated as a national-level cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone in 2020, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, has been actively advancing the development of its cross-border e-commerce to boost foreign trade.

With less than 30 days until Taizhou's first cross-border e-commerce expo, domestic cross-border sellers and overseas buyers have already begun communicating online with Taizhou manufacturers.

Chu Zhijiang, head of the cross-border e-commerce department at Zhejiang Caftp Service Co, has been involved in preparations for the expo. "Taizhou's manufacturing prowess, diverse export products, and stable supply have made it a sought-after sourcing hub for many cross-border buyers," said Chu.

The event has attracted over 40 cross-border platforms and more than 5,000 buyers, enabling Taizhou manufacturers to showcase their capabilities locally.

Taizhou has been making efforts to cultivate cross-border e-commerce entities, establishing the School of Cross-Border E-Commerce at Taizhou University and the Taizhou E-Commerce Training Center to nurture professional operations and service providers.

This year, Taizhou has hosted over 10 cross-border e-commerce events and more than 60 talent training sessions. Currently, the city has over 8,000 active online stores on cross-border e-commerce platforms such as AliExpress, eBay, and Amazon, as well as over 3,000 registered overseas brands.

In 2022, "Yunshang Taizhou", the city's first cross-border e-commerce supply chain service platform, launched, providing comprehensive services for cross-border sellers. The platform presently boasts 1,090 suppliers, 640 distributors, and over 10,000 categories of products, achieving transactions totaling $41.93 million.
