The First Tiantai Mountain Singing Competition concluded at the Grand Theater of the Tiantai County Cultural Center in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, on Aug 28. Sixteen finalists filled the air with beautiful melodies as they vied for the coveted grand prize.

The event kicked off at 7 pm, treating audiences to a musical feast. Contestants showcased their prowess in various singing styles including pop, folk, and opera, leaving spectators in awe with their fantastic performances.

From the preliminary and semifinal rounds at Zhexi Old Street to the finals at the Grand Theater, the competition attracted music lovers from all over the country. 

Champion Zhe Pengfei explained what impressed him most about the competition. "While the allure of the substantial prize money is undeniable, each of my encounters with Tiantai, from the preliminary rounds to the finals, evoked a distinct sensation. The expanding stage, elevated standards, and increasingly passionate audience reflect the city's inclusivity and harmony."

The combination of music and competition marks a fresh chapter in Tiantai's quest to integrate cultural and tourism development. In recent years, the county's diverse and engaging cultural events have not only enriched the lives of residents but also drawn a multitude of visitors.
