Within the Paomaping Forest Farm, there are many rare plants, such as the national first-class protected plant, the Taxus chinensis, and second-class protected plants like the camphor and Liriodendron Chinense. The Kuocangshan National Forest Park has also attracted numerous tourists due to its beautiful natural scenery. In recent years, the annual number of visitors has exceeded 100,000, and the value of the mini fruit industry has exceeded one million yuan ($140,380), placing high demands on the region's power supply.
Over the years, the State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company has adhered to the principle of green development by not only constructing the power grid but also protecting the biodiversity of the forest farm. In 2021, the first national forest park's zero-carbon intelligent microgrid was set up in the Kuocang Mountains area. Compared to traditional methods, the microgrid has reduced the ecological impact of 30 kilometers of mountainous area power lines. It increased the on-site utilization rate of wind, solar and hydro resources from 60 percent to 100 percent. This year, the company will also upgrade the first 10-megawatt off-grid standard smart microgrid in Kuocang Mountains area, so as to support the State Grid's "Green Ark" public welfare project and serve as a model in building smart grids in high-altitude, border and uninhabited areas.
Through years of joint efforts, not only has the power supply been improved, but significant contributions have been made to environmental protection and the promotion of biodiversity conservation. Currently, State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company has established a long-term cooperation mechanism with the forest farm management department. By holding regular joint meetings to jointly address challenging issues in power supply services, the two parts are exploring deeper cooperation for green development.
In the future, State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company said it will continue to uphold the path of green development, optimize service models, innovate in technology, and safeguard the green mountains and waters. Such efforts will make electricity a powerful engine to drive the construction of ecological civilization.
