A manned "UFO" ascended into the skies above the Fantawild Park in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, on the night of Aug 26.
Crafted by Shenzhen SMD UAV Co, this innovative UFO is the world's first all-electric manned flying saucer, designed specifically for low-altitude sightseeing and leisure.
The flight marked the first for the aerial vehicle in Zhejiang's skies, and its first passenger was a toy of a character from the Boonie Bears animation series.
Compared to conventional aerial tourism products, the manned UFO offers a more secure, eco-friendly, and cost-effective option for low-altitude sightseeing and entertainment.
"When forced to land on water, the UFO shell can generate buoyancy to ensure the safety of passengers. The blades are surrounded to prevent them from touching people, ensuring the safety of onlookers and passengers," explained Jin Liang, president of the company, who was born in Taizhou and has been engaged in the drone industry for over 20 years.
Just a few months ago, the product obtained a civil unmanned aerial vehicle special flight permit from the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Established in 2014, Shenzhen SMD UAV Co is a leading domestic manufacturer specializing in manned aerial vehicles and industrial-grade drone development.
This collaboration between the theme park and the sightseeing flying saucer exemplifies Taizhou's strategic embrace of the low-altitude economic sector.
