The 2024 Hong Kong Food Expo, held from Aug 15 to 17, shined a spotlight on Xianju waxberries from Taizhou, Zhejiang province, which captivated global participants with their distinct quality and allure.
Hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the expo is the largest exhibition featuring food, agriculture, forestry, husbandry, fishery, and specialty products in the Asia-Pacific region. It serves as a premier platform for international exchange and collaboration within the food industry.
Xianju County Green Engineering Co brought fresh waxberries and derivative products like waxberry juice and wine to the expo, drawing the attention of Hong Kong merchants and consumers. Participants from Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, and beyond also displayed a keen interest in Xianju waxberries, resulting in cooperation intentions from 23 potential partners.
As the waxberry season has passed, the company has revolutionized waxberry preservation through a partnership with Zhejiang Zhizhe Technology Co. Leveraging computer-aided software, food preservation technology, and scientific cold storage engineering design, the companies have developed a cutting-edge preservation system that ensures waxberries remain fresh for an extended period of 30 days.
The technology has been applied to the post-harvest storage, cold chain logistics, and sales display of fresh agricultural products, guaranteeing a green and safe journey "from farm to table".
