Donghong Furniture Co from Taizhou, Zhejiang province, has made a significant mark at the Paris Olympics by providing custom chairs and tables for various indoor sporting venues.

The gray plastic chairs have become a familiar sight for athletes, coaches, and referees during competitions.

The company, specializing in the research and production of plastic furniture, exports its products to more than 80 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa.

For the Paris Olympics, the company delivered over 4,200 chairs and 400 tables to event venues.

The process of securing this order spanned nearly a year, beginning with an inquiry at the end of 2022, and concluding with a final order placement in September 2023. Ding Jifeng, the company's sales representative, highlighted the key factors that contributed to winning the Olympic contract: original design and reliable quality.

"All of our products are designed by an Italian designer team, and the annual design expenditure accounts for one-third of the product cost," explained Ding. The chairs provided for the Olympics are not only comfortable but also durable, designed to accommodate various body types and rigorously tested for fatigue resistance.

The company's commitment to excellence was quickly recognized by organizers, leading to an additional order of 800 chairs in March following the delivery of 3,400 chairs.

This venture marks a milestone for our company, showcasing our products on a global stage and highlighting the quality of manufacturing in Taizhou, said General Manager Wang Yuqi.
