The 2024 "Root-Seeking Journey" summer camp commenced in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, on July 22, marking the beginning of a 10-day journey for 50 young overseas Chinese from six countries.

The camp will feature various activities such as visits to attractions, folk custom experiences, Chinese culture lessons, and martial arts exchanges, aimed at immersing participants in Taizhou's landscapes and culture.

This year, the summer camp offered two choices: the "Root-Seeking Journey" camp and the martial arts camp. The former includes visits around Taizhou, offering opportunities to learn about Chinese culture, read classical poetry, and witness Taizhou's development, while the latter focuses on training in martial arts such as nanquan and tai chi.

During the opening ceremony, campers expressed their excitement for the upcoming journey. Yu Jia, returning from France, expected to delve deeper into her hometown and enhance her understanding of Chinese culture and language through the camp.

Since its inception in 2005, the summer camp has attracted over 40 young overseas Chinese annually, aged 12 to 18, helping them to connect with their roots.
