Shuanglong village in Yuhuan, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past two decades, evolving from a secluded and economically challenged village to a thriving hub of development and innovation.

During this year's summer holiday period, a family amusement park in the village has emerged as a popular destination, attracting nearly a thousand tourists every day.

However, about 19 years ago, Shuanglong was a remote village with blocked traffic and humble collective income, struggling to keep up with a modernizing society.

Initially isolated by rugged terrain and poor transportation, Shuanglong faced hurdles in connecting with urban areas and accessing markets. Fruits and vegetables rotted due to the lack of transportation routes, while daily necessities could not be delivered to villagers.

Worse still, a painstakingly excavated tunnel was ruthlessly destroyed by a typhoon. As a result, the villagers decided to cut through the mountain to build a road.

After working through numerous difficulties, the arduous task was finally completed in 2011. Shuanggang Road has broken the village free from isolation and paved the way for economic growth.

The village's revitalization efforts extended to housing, with the "Chashanhuayuan" project symbolizing a shift from dilapidated dwellings to modern, functional residences. The project has not only solved housing issues for 198 households but also increased income by nearly 60 million yuan ($8.26 million).

During the May Day holiday this year, the family amusement park opened to the public, offering a blend of entertainment and recreation for visitors. It represents Shuanglong's venture into cultural tourism, aimed at turning the village into a popular travel destination.

"We plan to establish research and study bases, water parks, and camping facilities to make the amusement park a well-known hotspot for visitors from near and far," said Pan Huifu, Party secretary of the village.
