The Yong'an River, known as the mother river of Xianju, winds its way through the county. It offers opportunities for serene bamboo raft rides or leisurely bike excursions along its banks. The tranquil waters and surrounding mountains create a harmonious backdrop for exploration and relaxation.

The Pantan Ancient Town stands as a living testament to Xianju's historical legacy, with its well-preserved ancient street and buildings dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), including residences, shops, ancestral temples, and pawnshops. It is one of the most complete and distinctive cultural heritages in Zhejiang.

Culinary delights abound in Xianju, with the renowned Sanhuang chicken capturing the essence of local cuisine. This prized breed of egg-laying chickens, which has been cultivated for over a millennium, yields tender and flavorful meat after a long simmer.
