Enterprises in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, are experiencing a boom in exports of refrigerators and freezers, driven by the escalating global demand for cooling appliances during the summer months.
Zhejiang Xingxing Refrigeration Co, a prominent player in the industry, has seen a significant uptick in production and export figures. Operating at full capacity, the company is manufacturing refrigerators and freezers at a remarkable pace, with a new unit rolling off the production line every 10 seconds.
The high-quality products are exported to over 100 countries and regions. In the first half of this year, the company's export totals soared to 900 million yuan ($123.70 million), a 15 percent increase year-on-year.
The company has been shipping out 10,000 ice cream freezers and 40,000 to 50,000 small refrigerators every month since May. The implementation of the China-Ecuador Free Trade Agreement has further fueled the company's export growth, with a surge of over 30 percent in the Ecuadorian market.
"Especially in the Central and South American markets, the growth rate exceeded 50 percent compared with last year," said Zou Yuhua, the company's foreign trade director.
Zou added, "As temperatures rise globally, the demand for cooling appliances continues to grow, with orders of beverage and ice cream freezers increasing by over 20 percent."
