During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 8 to 10, Taizhou in Zhejiang province attracted 1.216 million visits, a 1.59 percent increase from the previous year, generating a total tourism revenue of 807 million yuan ($111.29 million).

Notably, 21.73 percent of tourists came from outside the province, with Shanghai, Jiangsu province, and Guangdong province being the top three sources.

Taizhou played host to a variety of tourism activities during the holiday. The Dragon Boat Race and Long-Table Banquet in Luqiao district and the hanfu (traditional Chinese clothes) event in Jiazhi Old Street in Jiaojiang district attracted numerous visitors. The Lobster Beer Music Festival in Tiantai drew over 50,000 visits at its peak.

The coinciding of the festival with the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day amplified the cultural atmosphere. Taizhou offered intangible cultural heritage workshops and food fairs, interactive experiences, and five carefully designed tourist routes centering intangible cultural heritages.

Various cultural heritage activities were also provided, such as the mugwort hammer making activity at the Huangyan Museum and traditional opera performances at the Luqiao Intangible Cultural Heritage Center.

Additionally, innovative activities captured visitors' attention as well. The Donghu Lake scenic area in Linhai invited visitors to find verses related to the Dragon Boat Festival to unlock a treasure, while Shangyang township in Huangyan celebrated the festival with its first sports meeting.
