Taizhou's GDP up 6.5% in Q1

Taizhou in Zhejiang province saw a GDP of 148.61 billion yuan ($20.57 billion) in the first quarter, marking a 6.5 percent year-on-year increase.

The city's primary industry achieved an added value of 5.04 billion yuan, up by 3.8 percent, the secondary industry's added value hit 61.42 billion yuan, an 8.2 percent increase, and that of the tertiary industry reached 82.15 billion yuan, a 5.4 percent rise.

The agricultural sector maintained stable development, with a 3.8 percent increase in the output value of agriculture, forestry, husbandry, and fishery. Vegetable production reached 624,600 metric tons, up by 2.4 percent, and meat production saw a 17.9 percent increase to 29,400 tons.

The industrial sector also experienced a strong rebound. The added value of industries above the designated size increased by 10.5 percent to 39.23 billion yuan, ranking sixth in the province. Private enterprises played a significant role, contributing 94.1 percent to the growth.

The service industry continued its recovery, achieving an added value of 82.15 billion yuan, a 5.4 percent growth. The information technology services industry and the financial industry grew by 10.9 percent and 6.3 percent, respectively.

The city's per capita disposable income reached 19,295 yuan, an increase of 6.2 percent. For urban and rural residents, the numbers were 23,349 yuan and 12,757 yuan, rising 5.4 percent and 7.5 percent, respectively.
