Three industrial clusters in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, have been listed among the top 100 industrial clusters in China in 2024.

The announcement was made at the China Private Economy Development Forum, which recently took place in Quanzhou, Fujian province.

The recognized industrial clusters in Taizhou specialize in precision manufacturing, new energy, as well as medicine and health science. Notably, alongside Ningbo, an economic powerhouse in Zhejiang, Taizhou has become the city with the highest number of inclusions from the province.

The selection process rigorously assessed over 2,000 private economy industrial clusters across the country, adhering to six stringent entry criteria: a minimum cluster output value of 30 billion yuan ($4.15 billion), a threshold of 3,000 enterprises within the cluster, a minimum 80-percent contribution rate from private enterprises, a top-three ranking in the segmented industry field, and a clean record with no major production safety, product quality, or environmental pollution incidents in the past three years.

The ranking of the top 100 industrial clusters also took into account factors such as innovation capability, development potential, agglomeration degree, green and low-carbon development, and level of openness.
