A historic moment occurred when a freight vessel set sail from Damaiyu Port in the county-level city of Yuhuan in Taizhou on March 25 for its maiden voyage to Laem Chabang Port in Thailand, with a stopover in Shanghai.

The journey marks the official launch of the shipping route linking Damaiyu Port and Thailand, which is expected to further cement Sino-Thai trade relations.

The vessel was laden with a diverse range of goods, including small commodities and mechanical products sourced from various enterprises in Taizhou. Upon its return journey, the ship will carry cargo consisting of Thai coconuts and frozen durians, alongside an assortment of other fruits, slated to arrive at Damaiyu Port in mid-April.

In the days to come, Damaiyu Port is gearing up to expedite the development of designated supervision areas tailored for imported fresh and frozen aquatic products. Plans for the establishment of a cold chain center dedicated to fresh food are in the offing. These strategic initiatives aim to build the port into a premier hub for international agricultural and aquatic product transportation, while also striving to spearhead the development of an open economy.
