Two silver pheasants were recently observed at the Dasiji National Forest Farm nestled in Huangyan district of Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The presence of these creatures, distinguished by their vibrant red faces, black crowns, dark bellies, and pristine white backs, was captured by the farm's intelligent monitoring system. The elegant birds were leisurely strolling, their long, snowy white tails gracefully trailing behind them.

These avian guests hold a special status as second-level protected animals in China. Primarily found in Guangdong province, they are revered as the provincial bird of Guangdong, often celebrated for their ethereal beauty and referred to as the "fairies of the mountains" and "gentlemen in white attire".

The elusive nature and aversion to human presence exhibited by silver pheasants have contributed to a decline in their population, making sightings of these enchanting creatures a rare and cherished occurrence in some regions.
