A drama produced in Taizhou's Huangyan district secured two awards at the recently concluded 10th China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theater Week held in Nanning, capital of South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The play, titled Virtuous Prime Minister Du Fan, received the Chinese Hibiscus Award for Outstanding Play at the event. Additionally, the talented leading actors of the production, Chen Yuxuan and Zhuang Yanran, were honored with the Chinese Hibiscus Award for Outstanding Performance. The award is named as such as the Chinese hibiscus holds the distinction of being the city flower of Nanning.

Premiering in 2022, Virtuous Prime Minister Du Fan draws inspiration from the revered figure of Du Fan, a local luminary from Huangyan. The drama skillfully captures the noble virtues of patriotism, integrity, and incorruptibility that defined Du Fan's character.

The recognition garnered at the 10th China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theater Week not only celebrates the artistic brilliance of the drama but also stands as a testament to the creative prowess and cultural significance of Huangyan. This achievement highlights the district's commitment to promoting and preserving its rich cultural heritage.
