Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province was named part of the fifth batch of service-oriented manufacturing demonstration cities in 2023. This recognition makes Taizhou the sixth city in Zhejiang to achieve this prestigious status, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Two local companies in Taizhou have also been acknowledged as service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises. The city is currently home to three national service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises and 27 at the provincial level.

In order to promote the development of service-oriented manufacturing, Taizhou has established a comprehensive key enterprise cultivation database. This has facilitated the utilization of next-generation information technology in various areas, such as supply chain management, digital design, product lifecycle management, and customized services. As a result, the city now boasts five provincial "future factories" and 59 digitized intelligent workshops.

Taizhou also prides itself on its thriving industrial design sector. With two major design industry bases, the city has successfully attracted design talent and resources, further strengthening its local manufacturing companies. Taizhou is currently home to a total of 26 provincial industrial design centers.

The city places great importance on promoting green transformation within its industrial sector. A comprehensive plan has been formulated to peak carbon emissions in the city's industries. As a result, Taizhou is now home to 32 national-level green factories and 11 national industrial product green design demonstration enterprises.
